Both Sullivans were circus performers. Soda an acrobact and Rose a bareback rider.
Center are James ("Soda") Sullivan and wife Rose at their 50th anniversary celebration with some local Holyoke, MA, dignitaries in attendance. I think it was in the early 1960's but will have to check our old photos to verify the date.
ReplyDeleteCorrection: This was the Sullivans' 60th anniversary celebration in 1962 (they were married in 1902). First on left was U.S. Congressman Edward Boland, and the third man from the right was Ma. Senator Maurice A. Donahue (I think perhaps a cousin of Rose Donahue Sullivan, in front of him).
